Recently while interacting with student community I realized that everyone wants the job but very few think from the career perspective though doing job itself is equivalent to career for them. These youth find it very difficult to survive in the jobs they have accepted eventually leading to depression (the most abused word for not doing soul searching).
So my advice to Students is to choose your career well based on your passion, interest & set your goals accordingly. Job is just a tool to achieve the same not necessarily in the same field where your interest lies but eventually you can correlate the same. Job definitely helps for survival gives you Salary to sustain but taking up a Job should not be the only ambition.
In Indian families right from schooling we are thought the importance of having the JOB with high salaries, Jobs with low salaries & the fear of being unemployed. No one talks about careers & importance of the same. Not getting a job is a big Taboo in Indian society.
A simple definition of a career is the progress and actions taken by a person in the area of his interest followed by an occupation undertaken for a significant period of a person’s life.
My humble request is choose career & not jobs. Jobs can be temporary but making career in one field definitely needs time & dedication which eventually brings growth, happiness & success.
